Weather in Southern Greece
The chart below gives an overview of average temperatures of the air and water in the southern Peloponnese. In the summer months, the sun can be relentless between 1200 (12pm) and 1600 (4pm) in the afternoon. Generally speaking, we'll try to paddle in the morning and late afternoon, enjoying swimming, snorkeling or snoozing and other activities, when the sun is the strongest.

Wind, waves and water conditions
Southern Greece is an ideal place to paddle: the tide in Mediterranean is minimal while the air and water temperatures are generally warm. The prevaling factor impacting sea conditions is the strength and direction of the wind.

The trip leader will review wind and weather predictions and make a decision where the group will paddle. This decision will be based on the weather, and the group's overall paddling capabilities. Your guide will also carry a GPS, charts, maps, compass, first aid and emergency contact equipment of either a cell phone and/or a VFH radio.

Read our "What to Wear" section, as you'll need to bring and wear comfortable clothes suitable for paddling and active water sports. You'll also be wearing a Personal Flotation Device (PFD) and sprayskirt over your paddle clothing.
